NGC 4216 is a bright edge-on, spiral galaxy in Virgo, about 1.5 degrees south of M98 and M99. It is easily visible as an elongated streak in an 8" telescope.
The bright companion galaxy to the upper right is CGCG 69-113, also known as PGC 39245. Its published magnitude is 15.1, which would make it a very difficult challenge for a 12" telescope. The smaller galaxy below it is an anonymous galaxy with no published magnitude.
NGC 4216 is a beautiful, edge-on spiral galaxy. Two other edge-on spirals were in the same field. 12.1 magnitude NGC 4206 at the lower right, and 13.2 magnitude NGC 4222 at the upper left. Just off the top right of NGC 4216 is the 15.3 magnitude PGC 39247. This was just visible as a very faint "star".
