NGC 3621 is a moderately large and fairly bright spiral galaxy in Hydra. It is not very well known as it is located in a fairly isolated location, and at a declination of -32, it tends to be very low on the horizon for nothern observers. For southern hemisphere observers it is quite a good object. In an 8" telescope, it appears as a nebulous oval with a bright centre.
