Comet 32/P Comas Sola

2005 Return

The 2005 return of Comet 32/P Comas Sola was relatively favourable, with the comet peaking at around 12th magnitude. However, by the time I was able to observe the comet, it was was already well past perihelion and fading steadily as it receeded from both the Earth and the Sun. The comet was around magnitude 13.5 at the time of the first image, and displayed a nice tail. By the time of the final image, it had faded to about magnitude 14.8.
