NGC 3211

300mm f/6 newtonian at prime focus.

NGC 3211 is a small but bright bright planetary nebula in Carina, about 2 degrees south of the 3rd magnitude star, q carinae. Easily visible in an 8" telescope, moderate magnification is required to distinguish it from a star. It shows a good response to an OIII filter.
