NGC 3195


Combination of 3, 3 minute exposures, SBIG ST-4 CCD
300mm f/6 newtonian at prime focus.

NGC 3195 is a fairly small and moderately bright planetary nebula in Chamelion, less than 10 degrees from the south celestial pole, the closest NGC planetary to the pole. It is visible as a faint patch of light in an 8" telescope, while a trace of the ring shape can be made out in a 12" under very good conditions.


Combination of 5, 3 minute exposures unfiltered
5, 3 minute exposures using red and green filters, and 6, 3 minute exposures using an blue filter.
