NGC 3193 is the brightest member of a small group of galaxies known as Hickson 44. The group is situated in Leo, and is easily located as it is situated about 2 degrees north of gamma leonis. (The bright star towards the lower right.) The group consists of 4 moderately bright galaxies, NGC 3185, NGC 3187, NGC 3190, and NGC 3193. Surrounding this group are NGC 3162, NGC 3177, and NGC 3221.
