NGC 2967

Combination of 3, 3 minute images, taken through fog.
SBIG ST-9E CCD. 30" f/5 newtonian telescope at prime focus.

NGC 2967 is a small face-on spiral galaxy in Sextans, almost halfway between Alphard and Regulus. Although small, the galaxy has a fairly high surface brightness and is easily visible as a circular haze with a bright nucleus in a 10" telescope. The above image does not do it justice as a thick fog formed during the exposures.
