NGC 2371/72

Combination of 10, 3 minute exposures.
SBIG ST-9XE CCD. 14" f/11 schmidt-cassegrain with an f/6.3 focal reducer.

NGC 2371 and NGC 2372 are part of the same planetary nebula in Gemini. In a 10" telescope, it looks like two patches of light close to each other. Long exposure images reveal that it is material ejected from a faint star in between the two patches. Further out, there are two faint arcs where more material has been ejected.

Combination of 5, 3 minute images unfiltered.
