Comet Halley
May 8, 1986

After I returned home from my lecture tour, opportunities to observe the comet became far fewer due to work commitments and the onset of winter. The only photograph in May that I was able to obtain was on May 8, when the comet was still readily visible to the naked eye at magnitude 5.9, and sporting a 2 degree tail.
