NGC 185

Combination of 20, 1 minute images, SBIG STL-1001E CCD.
16" f/10 schmidt-cassegrain at prime focus.

NGC 185 is a moderately bright elliptical galaxy in Casseopeia. Although the total magnitude is about 9.3, the galaxy is quite large. The surface brightness is low, but the core is fairly bright so the galaxy is not a difficult object for smaller telescopes under reasonably dark skies. The galaxy is a distant companion to M31.
