NGC 1851 is a small, moderately bright globular cluster in Columba. It is easily visible in binoculars from a dark location, and some resolution is achieved with an 8" telescope. Despite being magnitude 7, it seems to recieve very little mention in observing guides, most probably because of its southern location.
