Comet Holmes. 3 August, 2014
Combination of 5, 3 minute images unfiltered.
SBIG STL-1001E CCD. 20" f/6.8 cassegrain at prime focus.
After the fireworks observed during the 2007 return, the 2014 return of Comet Holmes was almost anti-climatic. The comet was its normal well-behaved self. Nonetheless it was still interesting to image, displaying a nice short tail. The comet peaked at about magniture 13 during July.
