Combination of 10, 2 minute images, SBIG ST-8E CCD and wide-band H-alpha filter. 50mm f/2 nikkormat lens.

NGC 1499 is a large but rather faint emission nebula in Perseus, situated about 10 degrees north of the Pleiades. If the skies are dark, it can seen with some difficulty in a 10" telescope. The above image was made using a wide-band H-alpha filter during very bright moonlight.
