Comet 10P/ Temple 2

Comet 10/p Temple 2 is a moderately bright periodic comet that can reach around magnitude 7 during a favourable return. It is a member of Jupiter's "family" of comets with an orbital period of about 5.4 years. Although I have observed the comet of several returns, the only image I have is from the very unfavourable 2005 return. At the time the image below was taken the comet was well past perihelion and around 17th magnitude!

Combination of 3, 3 minute images, SBIG ST-9XE CCD.
16" f/10 schmidt-cassegrain with an f/6.3 focal reducer.

During the 2015 return, the comet passed through Virgo giving rise to several nice imaging opportunities as it passed by galaxies. In the image below, the bright spiral galaxy is NGC 5364. The comet is indicated by the lines.
