On this night the comet was magnitude 4.9 and 4 degrees of tail was visible in the telescope. To show more of the tail, I took a series of images to assemble as a mosiac.

By this time the comet was very low on the horizon (less than 10 degrees!) and so some horizon dimming and reddening is evident in the photographs.

These were my final observations prior to perihelion. After this night, a period of cloudy weather and the comet's proximity to the Sun, precluded observation until after the comet reappeared in the morning sky during the middle of June.
