Applied Laser Spectroscopy Laboratory

The Applied Laser Spectroscopy Laboratory of the Physics Department of Texas Tech University, directed by E. R. Menzel, has over the years been involved in wide-ranging studies including:
1. Investigations of organic photoconductors.
2. Design of a field device for oil and gas prospecting, which may also find application in pipeline safety inspection.
3. Surface and bulk damage in dielectrics, with emphasis on diagnostics of aging of power transmission cable insulation.
4. On-line monitoring of silicon wafer etching.
5. Diagnostics of food irradiation.
