These are four of five telescopes they have at McDonald Observatory. The one in the middle is the 0.8 meter telescope. This is the one we used. The one on the left is the 2.1 meter telescope. This was the first one build here, that is why it is at the highest point. The one that is just to the right of the middle one is the 2.7 meter, this one is huge. Then to the far right toward the bottom you can see the 0.9 meter telescope.

This picture was taken from the front of the 0.8 meter telescope. It was a very nice place, you can see the road we took to get up here on the right side. It is hard to tell from the picture but on the left side there is a large mountain in the middle that has a shadow on the left. If you look carefully between that one and the one to the left of it you might see a white dot. That white dot is a radio telescope. Kind of like the ones on Contact.

This is the north side view from on top of Mt. Locke. The white round thing in the middle is the HET Observatory. This holds the Big 10 meter telescope.
