Mastering Physics Student Registration Instructions
PLEASE READ THIS THOROUGHLY SO THAT
I DON'T HAVE TO ANSWER 40+ QUESTIONS ABOUT IT!!!

Thank you!!!

HOMEWORK: Homework will be done on-line at Mastering Physics. If you've never used it before, bear in mind that although I have used it some, I'm certainly not an expert on it! So, I ask that you please be patient with me as we learn about it together. I've set up our course & a PRACTICE ASSIGNMENT is posted. Instructions on how to access the site are below. The practice assignment isn't for credit, but I want you to do it because it teaches you how to use Mastering Physics. It is called "Mastering Physics Intro". It is important for you to do it, but I won't count your score on it in your grade. If you do it, it won't count, no matter what score you get. But, at the session's end, I'll lower your homework grade by 5% if you haven't done it. It should be open to you once you have registered on Mastering Physics, & it will be closed (you can no longer work on it!) after Tuesday, July 14 at 11:30pm. This is the way it will usually be for homework. I will ATTEMPT to post assignments at about the same time we start a chapter. They typically will be due at 11:30pm about a week later.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR STUDENT REGISTRATION & ENROLLMENT
IN OUR COURSE ON MASTERING PHYSICS
Registration & Enrollment Steps
A. Go to Mastering Physics Here. (http://www.masteringphysics.com/).
B. On the left of the first page is the word "Register". Below that is a link, "New Students". Click on that link  & follow the
instructions from there. The website should guide you through this process.
C. To go further, you'll need a student access code. This should have been provided if you bought a new textbook at one of the
bookstores. If you bought a used book or if you bought a  new book on-line, you'll probably have to buy one. You can do
this on-line by clicking "Buy Now".
D. As you go through the registration process, you will create a personal student account.
E. To enroll in my course, you must enter the Course ID for it, NOT the course title.
Our Course ID is MPMYLES73604
This is case sensitive! You should then be allowed to register on the site for access to the course assignments.
F. Our text is Physics For Scientists & Engineers, (4th Ed) by D.C. Giancoli. Obviously, when you register, you need to
choose that one! That's the book that my on-line assignments will be from. NOTE: There is another book by Giancoli there
that is an option. It is NOT calculus based! DON'T REGISTER FOR THAT ONE! Once you are registered, you can access
    the area for our book.
