Egg Drop Competition - Spring 2001

The idea is simple---build a minimum volume "vehicle" that keeps the egg intact for increasing drop heights. The egg must be fresh from the carton and not altered chemically, frozen, or boiled. Diverse and wonderful contraptions were constructed in secret by the contestants (pics 1-7) and put to the test (pics 11-23) by our panel of impartial and (supposedly) unbought judges (see pics 8-10 and 24-26). The official winners are shown in pics 27-30.
