Professor Eric A.Cornell (Ph.D. MIT, 1990) won numerous prizes and awards: Fritz London Prize in Low Temperature Physics in 1996, I. I. Rabi Prize in 1997, King Faisal International Prize in Science in 1997, National Science Foundation Alan T. Waterman Award in 1997, Lorentz Medal of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1998, Benjamin Franklin Medal in Physics in 1999, Nobel Prize in Physics in 2001. He is a Member of the National Academy of Sciences since 2000.
