State Science Fair
March 27th-30th
The State Science Fair is the week prior to our Regional Fair, thus negating
the opportunity for our winners to participate at the fair in San Antonio.
The Board of Directors for the SPRSEF met and authorized Sandy Hancock to
contact Kai Kamaka with the State Fair and ask for special consideration for
our 6th-12th graders. Because of our special circumstances, they are going
to allow 6th thru 12th grade projects from our region to participate. These
projects must meet the approval of the Scientific Review Committee (SRC) to
be authorized to compete at the State Fair. If you feel that one or more of
your students have a project that could move on to state, please forward the
required paperwork to Sandy Hancock no later than
March 9th. The paperwork must have 2 copies of all forms and
the abstract must be typed on the ISEF abstract
form. When your student competes at our Regional Fair, the abstract must
be typed on the SPRSEF abstract form.
Once the SRC has selected the projects eligible for the State Science Fair,
you will be notified by E-mail with a PIN#. You will then be able to
register for the State Science Fair online. Additional forms and information
may be found at www.societyforscience.org.
The SRC will accept the 20 best applications. Incomplete applications will
not be considered. If you have any questions feel free to call Sandy or
Rita. Good Luck!
