The department is active in our community and supports outreach services such as the Circus Physicus that presents death-defying acts of physics interesting to children of all ages, including: the giant bowling ball pendulum of doom; the Mark II bed-o-nails; marshmallows in space; exploding grain elevators; the incredible rotating professor; liquid nitrogen vapors; Tesla's revenge; and many more. The circus is performed by Tom Gibson, Wally Glab, David Lamp, and Sarah Stubbs together with interested student volunteers.
