CURRENT RESEARCH

Fingerprints:

Our current work focuses on the universal application of lanthanide complexes and photoluminescent semiconductor nanoparticles to latent fingerprint detection in concert with time-resolved imaging for background fluorescence suppression.




CdS/dendrimer-developed fingerprint


Trace explosives and nerve agents:

Our current work concerns field methods and devices for trace explosives detection that adapt available color test procedures to sensing via photoluminescence to enhance sensitivity. We are also engaged in photoluminescence detection of nerve agents. As appropriate, the general photoluminescence approach may employ nanoparticle and lanthanide tagging for time-resolved detection.
